News reports, social media, and television shows portray criminals as violent and dangerous individuals deserving of punishment. This can lead to a public perception that crime is a major problem that criminals need to address through crime prevention.


Crime can be presented in different media, these presentations can inform public perceptions of crime and punishment. This year a new case of thieves disguised as police officers was registered in Cundinamarca. Strangely, these people posed as members of the National Police and kidnapped a citizen on public roads and in broad daylight.


The Cundinamarca Police confirm that these are people who posed as uniformed officers of the institution. The community is informed that the criminals disguised as police tried to impersonate the authority and issue an arrest warrant against a citizen of the municipality. In the reports of the victims, they indicated that several disguised police officers used their positions to intimidate and deceive them.
